There are a number of games that are just meant to be played all the way through without giving them a break. These games are few and far between though, they come and go, yet many of them remain for a long time. Not every game is this way – games that just keep you on the edge of your seat, wanting for more, living the excitement with each moment make.
Here is the top five games that will leave you on the edge of your seat – games that you just have to play:
1. Crysis (PC 2007)

The original game in the successful first person franchise was seen to be more exciting than anyone could have ever expected. With features like amazing graphics, a unique story, cool characters and fast paced action, Crysis was considered a benchmark game for a long time after its release. Equipped with a “nano-suit” gameplayers are able to take one of four modes; Armor – which protects from bullets; Strength – which allows higher jumps and moving heavy objects; Speed – which boosts speed; Cloak – which disguises the player. Combining these modes together ensures gameplay.
2. Grand Theft Auto III
GTA 2 was one of the most original games ever to hit the gaming market. However, once GTA 3 hit the shelves, and became the first in the series to offer a fully voiced story within a 3D environment, it became an instantaneous hit. Everyone was buying it, and thanks to the features the game had, it was hard to stop playing. GTA offers thrilling action, violence, entertaining missions and hours of fun!
3. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Nintendo 1998)
While quite old, and very difficult, this game has shown itself to be a long-lasting experience for many players, and went on to become the most-played game on the Nintendo. It is still widely played to this day, and its storyline is considered one of the most compelling in the history of video games. While some people may be turned off by the outdated graphics, those who look past the initial way it appears, and go on to play this amazing game will learn that it was worth every single minute of their time.
4. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Whether you hate it or love it, the Call of Duty franchise impacted the genre of First Person Shooters in a way that no other game has done. CoD 4 introduced us for the first time to modern war, and came a bunch of options which proved to be more than enough to keep millions of players on their edge of their seat when facing off against each other in multiplayer. Non-stop fun, fast-paced action and the need for more make this game more than worthy of its titles.
5. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
This long-lasting and incredibly successful franchise comes with a story that will embrace you and never let you go. With highly original game aspects like stalking opponents, and awesome big boss fights, gamers are encouraged to play more and more, so addicitive is this game. The game easily established its franchise as one of the biggest of all time - if you haven’t got your hands on it yet, you have no idea what you’re missing.
